Karupannya Rangpur: Reviving Heritage, Empowering Communities

Founded in 1991 in Rangpur, Karupannya embarked on a mission to revive the centuries-old art of Satranji weaving, once a symbol of Bengal’s rich cultural heritage. Starting with just five weavers, the journey was fueled by a commitment to sustainability, women’s empowerment, and community development.

Today, Karupannya employs over 7,000 skilled artisans—90% of whom are women—crafting eco-friendly handmade rugs from recycled materials like jute and garment waste. Exporting to 55 countries, the brand has gained global recognition while transforming lives in its community.

Karupannya remains steadfast in its mission: blending heritage with innovation to create sustainable products that uplift lives and preserve the environment.
